Highlights of my childhood / Hal Sayr Baldwin. 1936.

Photocopy of handwritten memories of Hal Sayr Baldwin, son of Lyman E. and Sarah Peterson Baldwin, who was born on a ranch in the White Rock area. He was named for his father's friend, Hal Sayr, a mining engineer. The family moved to Central City, then back to Boulder. Lyman was a stonemason and later had a planing mill. Hal attended Central School, and remembered teachers and friends there. He describes early Boulder boyhood adventures. His mother had worked for and lived with Henry M. Teller and family. Baldwin was working at the Berlin hardware store when the first electric lights came to Boulder. The family later moved to Lander and Rawlins, Wyoming, where he had experiences with American Indians.
